WHO WE ARE Purpose and Philosophy of Holy Ground We are an interfaith sanctuary for worship, contemplation, and study dedicated to spiritual growth, building community, and healing on all levels of our personal and collective lives. This shared ground affirms all moral precepts, commandments, and bills of rights which advocate unity, equality and peace for all. On this holy ground, we befriend and support each other and each person’s spiritual practice of choice. We encourage creative leadership and participation. Our ministries foster an environment where people feel heard, supported, challenged and loved. Authentic experience, personal growth and stewardship are cultivated, rather than belief, theology and formal membership. |

Examining, stretching and stilling the mind are part of the openhearted communication nurtured in the community. We cherish the trust, joy and emotional intimacy which flow from this practice. By affirming a vibrant web of meaningful connections among all beings, teachings and levels of existence, we facilitate an experience of internal, interpersonal and transpersonal healing. Spiritual kinship, i.e. communion, is the reward of this process which blesses all, and all we are called to do in our lives. |

Background Holy Ground was founded by Marianna Connolly, M.S.C., M.A.T, in 1998. Marianna is an ordained interfaith minister with a degree in spiritual counseling from the New Seminary in New York City. Holy Ground is an independent, non-profit spiritual center in Northampton and Williamsburg/Haydenville, MA. The community is administered by the pastor and an eight-member Council (see below). All spiritual seekers whose paths are inspired by the philosophy, practice and community of Holy Ground are stewards, sharing their gifts, time, prayers, and support. |
